http://amplified.fm/ is an online information source for local bands in the Burlington area. It's goal has been to provide an outlet for artists to get known while also allowing for area-residents to browse bands and venues from across the city. The fledgling company was started by graduates of the UVM business school with the intentions of providing one-stop-shopping for all live music in the city of Burlington and surrounding areas. At the moment the site remains in Alpha testing phase but with a regularly updated blog of show, album and artist reviews. Their business model is very akin to Vermont's style of grassroots organization - supporting and getting to know personally different bands around town; regardless if they are regulars at notable venues like Nectar's or your college age quartet in a party house basement.
